COANIQUEM’s emblematic initiatives in innovation

2020 Telemedicina + Ficha médica electrónica: Para mantener el contacto con los pacientes que no podían acudir a sus controles por las medidas de confinamiento, conocer su evolución y dar indicaciones terapéuticas, se implementó la telemedicina, mediante migración de la ficha clínica electrónica a un sistema vía web, lo que también permitió que los profesionales pudieran atender desde sus casas.

2020 WhatsApp SOS: Para apoyar a la comunidad que tenía dificultad y temor de acudir a una atención de urgencia o a un establecimiento de salud, por el riesgo de contagios por Covid, se implementó un turno de enfermeras que dan respuesta a llamados del público a través de un wsp que atiende 24 horas. Así se orienta cuándo es necesario ir a un servicio asistencial por una quemadura o si se puede intentar un manejo en casa cuando las lesiones no son graves.

2019 A program is introduced to obtain the most advanced equipment for highly complex treatments for children and adolescents with burns.

2018 The Data Center and Electronic Medical Record Program begins, technically supported by the University of Davis and DUOC UC.

2016 The Solidarity Stores Program COANIQUEM Store begins, recognized by the AVONNI National Innovation Award in Social Enterprising, in 2017.

2016 We begin to work on a Telemedicine Program that connects with telepresence technology to the three COANIQUEM Rehabilitation Centers, allowing a long distance treatment for certain cases.

2015 An Environmental Design Program is implemented with the Art Center College of Design of the University of Pasadena California, with the intention of redesigning our Rehabilitation Centers creating a magical environment for the children that favors their recovery. The project is supported by the Sappi Foundation.

2013 An innovative burn prevention campaign is designed with the Art Center College of Design of the University of Pasadena California, focusing on children as a target group.

2005 The COANIQUEM Foundation for Technological Advances is created to promote scientific and technological research related to the duties of COANIQUEM.

1997 A Hospital Educational Program is created in CASABIERTA COANIQUEM, focused on children and adolescents in treatment.

1995 The COANIQUEM Glass Recycling Program is launched, pioneering in the care of the environment and creating economic resources to finance the COANIQUEM Operation.

1993 Creation of the “Stop the Fire” Campaign that will achieve the year 2000, the enactment of Law 19,680 which prohibits the private use of fireworks and regulates fireworks shows.

1986 COANIQUEM is a pioneer in Outpatient Surgery with a new program in this area .

1983 COANIQUEM is a pioneer in the design and manufacture of compressive garments and orthotics to treat scars from burn injuries.

1981 COANIQUEM opens the first Burn Rehabilitation Center in Chile

Along with this history of innovation, COANIQUEM and its President and Founder, Dr. Jorge Rojas Zegers, have received various awards for their management both in Chile and abroad.

2018 GOLD ACHAP Chilean Advertising Association Award, EFFECTIVE CREATIVITY Category, for the burn prevention campaign COANIQUEM Tips.

2018 Effie Awards 2018 GOLD, Social Marketing Category/ Non-Profit and finalist in GRAN EFFIE Award, for the Burn Prevention Campaign COANIQUEM Tips.

2017 World of Children Hero Award, April 2017, Beverly Hills, California USA, granted by the World of Children Foundation.

2017 National Innovation Award in the Social Entrepreneurship category, granted by the Economy Minister and Innovation Forum, for the Solidarity Stores COANIQUEM Store.

2016 Environmental Care Award, Pontificia Universidad Católica.

2017 Tribute from the Latin American Burn Federation FELAQ, Lima, Peru, for its long history of prevention, teaching, research and treatment for burns in patients.

2014 Career and Contribution to Burn Prevention Recognition in Latin America, conferred by the Chilean Burn Society in the VIII Chilean and International Burn Congress, Integrating Visions.

2013 Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2012. Schwab Foundation of Switzerland,” El Sábado” Magazine from “ El Mercurio.”

2012 Condecoration Order of the Southern Cross, degree of Collar. Government of Chile, instituted by Supreme Decree No. 788 of 1930.

2010 Outstanding Citizen Award, Chilean Chamber of Deputies.

2008 Oxygen Award. Porgoa, University of Santiago de Chile. Recognition of the Recycling Glass Campaign.

2007 National Security Council Award.

2007 Latin American NGO Representative to the United Nations; NGO/DPI Executive Committee (UN DPI).
