DEPARTMENT OF EXTENSION TEACHING AND INVESTIGATION: DEDI
Created on March 1, 1992, with the purpose of programming, coordinating, controlling and supervising the Extension, Teaching and Research activities of the entire institution. It is part of the Corporation and is composed of three sub-directorates:

1.- Mission

Academic department: It coordinates all the assistance teaching activities of COANIQUEM. It also regulates through agreements with institutions of college education the demands of clinical field and professional practices of national pre and post degree. It manages and coordinates training for national healthcare teams according to the demands. It administers and coordinates its own international training programs regarding child burn rehabilitation, child burn prevention and hospital pedagogy.
Outreach Department: It coordinates the activities related to the prevention of child burns at a national level. The main focus is on creating and updating the contents to be published and conducting activities with the community, massive campaigns and inter-sectoral work for the improvement of the safety of products related to the production of child burns. It also performs every year the epidemiological surveillance of fireworks nationwide.
Research Assistant Department: Encourages, guides and supports the development of research by the professionals that work in COANIQUEM. The purpose is to generate new scientific, technological and practical knowledge that will allow the prevention of burns in children and adolescents, to provide treatments with scientific evidence in children and adolescents with burns, in their critical and healing stages, and to study the family and community environment in which this phenomenon occurs, considering the ethical and legal context of the country.
